Praising God

It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night. (Pslams 92:1-2)

The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established and it cannot be moved. Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. Psalms 93:1-2

Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, you how are righteous, and praise his holy name. Psalms 97:10-12

When we see a music concert or an art gallery we see the audience admiring and praising art work of the musician. Especially in concerts we see how audience admire, adore the performers. People honor performers, artists. They are highly looked upon no matter what they do and how they live.

When it comes to God, we completely ignore Him. We think why should I praise God? He is God, he is already great. And our attention always revolves around our own interests. Our mind is always occupied with our day to day problems, medium term or long term goals and problems to be solved. Problems at work, so much so we cant even enjoy sunset or things that go around us. Our mind is programmed to perceive only things that we decide to follow or observe. From morning to evening and looking forward for a favourite TV show or something.

*Bible says God created human beings to have fellowship with Him. He created everything for Him. This wonderful creation in which we live in is created by Him. The very breath that we breathe is from Him. God is the source of every life. Bible says the life comes from Him and returns to Him after we die. Millions of galaxies exist in creation, innumerable to human eye, yet there is only life and atmosphere on this earth. Everything is in perfect order, is it by accident? absolutely not. It is because of God's compassion and love.

*The creation proclaims the greatness of God. Bible says God's greatness no one can fathom. When an artist paints a beautiful picture of a scene we enjoy it, people frame it and put it in their homes. But the real creation and its beauty we see everyday, we enjoy it everyday we live our lives everyday without showing any gratitude to the almighty creator.

* Bible says it is good to praise God (Psalm 92:1-2). What does it really mean?. It means it is for our benefit to praise God. God created human beings to have fellowship with Him and to enjoy Him. Praising God is an imperative act. When Adam and Eve had fellowship with God they could see the very creator of heaven and earth face to face. Bible says God is clothed with majesty, splendor and power. He is the source of life that gives light to men. When we behold Him it is a mutual exchange of praise and blessing. When we meditate on Him, through prayer behold him and see His glorious creation and His mighty acts in our own life, we need to praise him with heart filled with gratitude by which we receive His unmatched love, grace, blessing and fulness of life that fills our heart which is for our benefit. So when we praise God with heart filled with gratitude and thanks in turn we receive joy unspeakable, peace unshakable and life immeasurable that a human heart cannot contain.
