| When I see Him face to face |
| |
When I see my King and Lord
Face to face my joys redound
New meaning to this desultory life I find
When on Christ I lay my heart and mind
When mortal riches tempt me sore
Then, I know I need Him even more
My treasure-troves in Him I seek
His transcendental riches lift me to the peak
Living water and the bread of life is He
Descending from heavens for a wretch like me
Filled with His love I am nourished
Yearning for more I am never satiated
He picked me up when I was doomed to perish
He ascended the cross, His love I cherish
He brought me to His fold, when I was wilting afar
To clothe me in white and gift me with a morning star
With myriads of cherubims and angles I sing
Glory, honor, power and praise to my king
With ineffable bliss I lift my cup of salvation
Purged by His blood my every transgression
